Tips – Where to get free mediation

Did you know —

The Massachusetts Attorney General's Office provides a hotline for consumers and provides free mediation services for those who are having difficulty resolving issues with businesses. Mediation starts with a complaint form filed either with the Attorney General's office or with one of the its Local Consumer Programs. Mediation is done by telephone. In some situations, the Attorney Generals Office's Face to Face mediation program might be more appropriate. This program offers the opportunity for consumers and businesses to meet face to face with a mediator to resolve their differences.

The goal of both these programs is to help consumers resolve disputes without involving the court process, which could be time consuming and costly. Details about the Attorney General's Complaint and Mediation Services programs and how to participate in them are provided on the Attorney General's website.
