Consumers Empowered, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, founded in 2010 by Cindy Matloff and Marie Taylor. Both Cindy and Marie have been involved in consumer education for a number of years, giving classes and workshops and speaking to groups on current consumer topics. Cindy served as a mediator on the Ford Motor Company Dispute Resolution Board and has been actively involved in consumer education. Marie is a certified mediator and a lawyer. Both worked together previously as Co-Directors at the Consumer Assistance Office Metro West, Inc. (Natick, Massachusetts), which is funded by the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General.

Our mission is to provide Massachusetts consumers with tools to make informed decisions, resources to resolve issues and information and education on Internet security and privacy issues. In addition, we want to provide a forum where consumers can share their own consumer success stories, make suggestions for news articles and give tips on what has worked well for them. A page on our website provides such a forum. It is the Consumers Exchange and we encourage consumers to visit the page and submit their experiences with the goal of making us all Empowered Consumers.
